Dermatopathology

Dermatopathology, also referred to as surgical pathology, is a joint specialty of dermatology and pathology that focuses on the microscopic and molecular analysis of cutaneous illnesses. Fundamental evaluations of the potential causes of skin diseases are also included. Dermatopathologists and clinical dermatologists frequently work together, and many of them also have extra clinical dermatology training. Dermatologists can recognise the majority of skin conditions based on their traits, anatomical distributions, and behaviours. However, when such criteria do not provide a conclusive diagnosis, it may be essential to take a skin sample for microscopic examination or for other molecular investigations. This process reveals the histology of the illness and produces a specific diagnostic interpretation.
