Psychodermatology


The field of psychosomatic medicine known as psychodermatology is very new. It is the result of brain and skin communication. At the embryonic level, ectoderm connects the two fields of study. Skin interacts intricately with the immunological, neuroendocrine, and endocrine systems. Skin reacts to both endogenous and external stimuli; it detects and assimilates ambient cues and communicates internal circumstances to the environment.
